The Asiwaju of Offa and Chairman of Avalon Group, Alhaji Tajudeen Owoyemi, on Thursday held a closed-door meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, in Abuja.
During the meeting, the Offa-born billionaire raised key issues of national interest, with emphasis on development, inclusiveness, and security.
Commitment to National Development: Alhaji Owoyemi reiterated his dedication to contributing to Nigeria’s growth, highlighting his past efforts in advancing the country’s tourism sector. He emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration with stakeholders to drive national progress.
Representation of Offa Sons and Daughters: He also appealed for the inclusion of indigenes of Offa in top national positions, stressing that Offa sons and daughters have consistently demonstrated diligence, patriotism, and excellence in their contributions to Nigeria’s political and professional landscape.
Security Concerns: On the issue of insecurity, particularly in Kwara State, Alhaji Owoyemi urged Prof. Yilwatda to leverage his office to facilitate lasting solutions. He noted that, as someone from Plateau State (a region also grappling with insecurity), the APC Chairman understands the urgency of addressing the menace. He called for stronger collaborative efforts to combat rising insecurity and banditry, especially in Kwara South and Kwara North.
Further details from the meeting will be made available in due course.
