
The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) will on Friday, January 30, 2026, host a media roundtable focused on preparations for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Chairman of the Association, Salihu Shola Taofeek, said the roundtable is designed to provide a platform for critical stakeholders to engage in robust discussions on the political transition process in Kwara State ahead of the 2027 polls.
The programme, themed “Kwara 2027: Media, Politics and the Search for Credible Leadership,” will feature Dr. Ibrahim Salawu, Acting Director of the Kwara State University Centre for Politics and Corporate Governance, and Dr. Rafiu Bakare, Deputy Director of the Institute of Legislative Studies, University of Ilorin, as guest speakers.

Taofeek noted that participants expected at the event include representatives of political parties, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), socio-political organisations from the three senatorial districts of Kwara State, as well as other key stakeholders.
He added that the ASKOMP Media Roundtable, scheduled to hold at the NUJ Press Centre, Ilorin, aims to promote informed public discourse and contribute to the deepening of democratic governance in the country.
