
The Wakilin of Ilorin Emirate and Chairman of Crystal Group of Companies, Hon. Mashood Mustapha (MM), has mourned the death of renowned Islamic scholar, Prof. Yusuf Olarewaju Badmus.
Prof. Badmus reportedly passed away a few days ago.
In a statement released to the Press through his Head of Media and Public Relations, Dr. Opeyemi Aregbesola, Hon. MM described the late scholar as a towering intellectual and a powerhouse of knowledge whose contributions to Islam and society would endure.
“I am saddened by the news of the death of Prof. Yusuf Olarewaju Badmus. This is a great loss, and I pray that Allah accepts his soul,” the statement read.
According to Hon. MM, Prof. Badmus was an outstanding Islamic scholar whose impact through teaching, research, and the propagation of Islam would not be forgotten.
“Prof. Badmus was a great Islamic scholar and a repository of knowledge. His immense contributions to society through academic research, mentorship, and Islamic propagation remain indelible,” he said.

He described the death as a significant loss to Ilorin Emirate and the entire Muslim Ummah, while extending his condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR.
Hon. MM also commiserated with the family of the deceased, the people of Ilorin Emirate, the academic community, and the people of Kwara State.
“May Allah grant Prof. Badmus Al-Jannah Firdaus and grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Aamin,” the statement concluded.
