The Kwara State Government has approved the reopening of schools across the state from Monday, February 2, 2026, following improvements in the security situation.
The announcement was made on Sunday in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe.
He said school authorities have been formally notified of the decision, which comes amid sustained security operations aimed at neutralising threats to public safety, including schools.
According to the commissioner, the government has assessed the situation and considers it significantly improved compared to previous weeks, though vigilance remains a priority.
