Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has paid a courtesy visit to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, in Kano State – fueling speculations about possible political alignments ahead of future elections.
Obi, accompanied by key figures from the Obidient Movement, held discussions with Kwankwaso focused on strategies for national development and collaborative political efforts.
Details of the meeting were disclosed by Yunusa Tanko via his official X (formerly Twitter) account. He described the engagement as part of ongoing efforts to “strategise for our collective interest to make Nigeria work again for all.”
Tanko also expressed appreciation to Kano residents for their warm reception, hinting that the visit could signal “good things to come in the near future.”
The development quickly sparked varied reactions online. While some users questioned the political implications of the meeting and raised concerns about potential alliances, others dismissed its significance, arguing that such engagements do not necessarily translate into electoral success.
However, a number of supporters viewed the visit positively, describing it as a demonstration of political strength and unity, with optimism that both leaders could drive meaningful change if aligned.
Overall, the visit has intensified conversations around possible political realignments, reflecting the growing interest in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
