
Popular Islamic Cleric, Alfa Mukhtar Lukman Abiodun Isalekoto has stated that Abdulrahman Mohad Ballo, who was arrested in Ilorin for allegedly killing Lawal Hafsoh for ritual purposes, is not an indigene of Isalekoto.
Alfa Lukman Isalekoto made the clarification in a statement he released on behalf of the indigenes of Isalekoto on Saturday.
According to the statement, Mohad Ballo is not in any way affiliated with Isalekoto as was wrongly claimed by a section of the media when the news broke out.
The statement reads:
“We have been made aware of the disturbing news circulating about one Abdulrahman Mohad Ballo, who has been arrested for allegedly killing a final-year student of Kwara State College of Education, Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, for ritual purposes.
“We wish to set the record straight and categorically state that we do not know Abdulrahman Mohad Ballo, and he is not in any way related to us. Our investigation reveals that he is from Idi Isin, which is not affiliated with Isalekoto.
“We want to assure the public that we condemn this heinous act and have no connection with the accused. We urge the authorities to thoroughly investigate this matter and bring justice to the victim’s family.
“We appreciate the numerous calls and messages from friends and families worldwide, inquiring about this incident. We hope this statement clarifies our position and sets the record straight.”
Meanwhile, findings have revealed that the alleged ritual killer, Abdulrahman Mohad Ballo is from Idi Isin, which is not affiliated with Isalekoto.
The Idi Isin community while reacting to the incident condemned the alleged act and urged the authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring justice to the victim’s family.
