A frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, has unveiled plans to introduce free primary and secondary education, expand job opportunities and strengthen the state’s economy if elected governor.
The renowned neurosurgeon and founder of RNZ Foundation disclosed this during a media parley with the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) at his Ilorin residence on Saturday, where he outlined his vision for transforming Kwara State through what he described as the “Prosperity Agenda.”
Prof. Sulaiman said his personal journey from a humble background to becoming a world-class neurosurgeon was made possible through the free education programme introduced by the administration of the late former Lagos State governor, Lateef Jakande.
“I grew up in a ghetto in Lagos State. The free education of the Lateef Jakande administration gave me the opportunity to excel and become a world-class neurosurgeon. I came from a humble background, and education has transformed my life. I believe education remains the best way to alleviate poverty,” he said.
He therefore pledged that his administration would ensure free education at the primary and secondary levels while also partnering with international organisations to strengthen the education sector in Kwara State.

The Ajase-Ipo born politician also unveiled his “Prosperity Agenda,” which he said is anchored on building a peaceful, united and prosperous state through people-centred governance and inclusive development.
According to him, his vision is to transform Kwara into a safe, economically vibrant and socially inclusive state recognised for innovation, cultural pride, human capital development and sustainable prosperity.
“We want a Kwara where the child of a nobody can become somebody,” Sulaiman stated.
Speaking further, the APC aspirant promised to prioritise job creation by adding value to agriculture and strengthening the state’s economy.
He noted that his manifesto would build on the achievements of the current administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq while introducing new ideas to ensure equitable development across the 16 local government areas of the state.
“There is no alternative to APC. The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu is attracting accolades and stabilising Nigeria’s economy. Many students are already benefiting from the student loan initiative,” he said.
Sulaiman also explained that his administration would mobilise public, private and international resources to execute strategic development projects, while working to improve the state’s credit rating in order to attract investments and funding.
He assured that his government would prioritise transparency, credibility and accountability in the execution of projects.
The former APC senatorial candidate for Kwara South added that his credentials, professional experience and community impact place him in a strong position to lead the state.
