The Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Kwara State Chapter, has called on residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to relevant security agencies, as concerns over insecurity continue to grow across the state.
The appeal was contained in a public advisory issued on Tuesday by the Chairman of the association, Dr. Samuel Yusuf Bola.
The advisory, titled “If You See Something, Say Something: The Role of Intelligence Gathering in Combating Insecurity in Kwara,” emphasized the critical role of community participation in strengthening security efforts.
According to the association, effective intelligence gathering remains one of the most powerful tools in preventing crime and addressing emerging threats.
It noted that security agencies cannot operate in isolation and require timely, accurate information from residents to respond proactively to potential dangers.
“Security is a collective responsibility, therefore, residents must take ownership of their environment by staying alert and reporting unusual movements, unfamiliar persons, or any activity that raises concern,” the statement read.

The ALPSPN further urged community leaders, landlords, transport operators, and market associations to collaborate closely with security operatives by sharing credible information that could aid investigations and disrupt criminal networks.
While assuring the public of continued support for law enforcement agencies, the association also encouraged residents not to take laws into their own hands but to channel all information through appropriate authorities.
Reiterating its commitment to enhancing safety across Kwara State, ALPSPN stressed that sustained collaboration between citizens and security stakeholders remains essential to restoring peace, protecting lives and property, and building a more secure society.
