The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has officially unveiled Engr. Kale Kawu as its consensus candidate ahead of the party’s gubernatorial primary election for the 2027 governorship race.
The announcement was made by former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, following what he described as extensive consultations with party stakeholders and leading governorship aspirants within the Kwara PDP.
According to Saraki, the decision to adopt Engr. Kale Kawu as the party’s consensus candidate reflects the collective interest of the PDP and its commitment to unity ahead of the elections.
He also commended other aspirants who stepped down in support of the consensus arrangement, praising their sacrifice and dedication to the progress of the party and Kwara State.
“It is this spirit of unity, cooperation, and selflessness that will lead our great party to victory,” Saraki stated.
He further wished party members, delegates, and supporters a peaceful, successful, and orderly gubernatorial primary election.
