
Several prominent political figures, royal representatives, academics, and agricultural stakeholders have confirmed their attendance at the forthcoming launch of The Sovereign Soil, a highly anticipated event set to hold in Ilorin.
Leading the list of dignitaries expected at the occasion is the Deputy Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency Kayode Alabi, who will attend as Special Guest of Honour. Also confirmed is Senator Dr. Sabi Abdullahi, Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, alongside Prince Sunday Fagbemi, Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Cereals Research Institute (NCRI), Badeggi.
Former Kwara Central Senator, Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, has equally confirmed attendance as a Special Guest of Honour.

The Emir of Ilorin will be represented by the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, who is expected to serve as the Royal Father of the Day.
Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola, former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture, will chair the event, while Alhaji Tajudeen Abdulkadir Makama, FCA, has been confirmed as the Chief Launcher.
Other notable personalities expected as Special Co-Launchers include Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi of ENACT, Hon. Sherif Shagaya, Dr. Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha, Barr. Majeed Oloriegbe, Asiwaju Bayi Eleranegbe, and Mallam Ahmed Olayiwola Kareem, Clerk of the Kwara State House of Assembly.
The intellectual session of the programme will feature Prof. Sidikat Aderinoye-Abdulwahab as the Keynote Speaker, while Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye will serve as the Book Discussant. The book presentation will be handled by Folashade Aransiola.
Also expected at the event are Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, Dr. M. N. Ishaq, Executive Director of NCRI Badeggi, and Engr. Dr. Y. S. Ademiluyi, Executive Director of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM), all as Guests of Honour.
In addition, Lateef Sanni, Executive Director of the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Ilorin, is also billed to attend the event.
Organisers say the launch of The Sovereign Soil promises to bring together key stakeholders in agriculture, governance, and academia to discuss food security, national development, and the future of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
