
Engr. Femi Sanni Araba has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the submission of his letter of intent at the party’s state secretariat.
During a visit to the secretariat, Araba was received by members of the State Working Committee led by the APC State Chairman, Sunday Fagbemi. The engagement marks a formal step in his bid for the state’s top office, signaling his readiness to join the race.
Addressing party leaders, Araba positioned himself as a bridge-builder, pledging to foster unity within the APC and across the state. He emphasized his commitment to sustaining and expanding the developmental strides of the current administration led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, stressing the importance of continuity in governance.
He also assured stakeholders of his resolve to strengthen party cohesion and promote an inclusive style of leadership that reflects the interests of diverse groups across Kwara.
In his remarks, Fagbemi welcomed Araba’s aspiration and praised his adherence to due process in formally notifying the party of his ambition. He reiterated the APC’s commitment to fairness and transparency, assuring that all aspirants would be given equal opportunity during the primaries.
The announcement adds momentum to the evolving political landscape in Kwara, as more contenders begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
