Richard Branson, a successful British Businessman and Owner of Virgin Group emphasized the importance of listening in leadership by saying: “Lead by listening – to be a good leader you have to be a great listener.”
One of the unique qualities of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is the humility to listen without interrupting. He listens with his heart to understand issues and unsaid words during conversations.
While some people have tried to create imaginary folktales about his accessibility. Reality shows that Governor Abdulrazaq has continued to address issues highlighted during public engagement, conversations and one-on-one interactions with people.
The list of testimonies about proactive action that follows engagement with the Governor are endless. He does not give bogus promises for political correctness. Governor AbdulRazaq speaks by taking actions, making positive impacts and tackling challenges facing Kwarans head-on.
His administration for seven years has been engaging critical stakeholders to harvest feedback in build to annual budget preparation. This strategy helps the APC administration in Kwara State to deliver dividends of democracy across 193 wards and 16 local government areas.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who is the APC Senatorial Candidate for Kwara Central would consistently engage his Constituents to get first-hand information in order to provide effective and quality representation.
This has made a lot of difference. AbdulRazaq has helped to facilitate construction of the Okolowo flyover to address the incessant accident and loss of lives on the popular expressway. Secondly, he has also recently got the federal government to recommence the construction of Moro Bridge to enhance urban-rural transportation and transfer of goods in and out of the state. These actions were influenced by putting effective feedback in place and maintaining critical communication channel with the citizens.
AbdulRazaq will be an impactful Senator by passing bills to improve the wellbeing of citizenry, facilitate stronger federal government presence and contribute robustly to national development.
As seen with his engagement with other Governors as the Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum to resolve initial resistance of the New Tax Laws by sub-nationals, Sardauna AbdulRazaq will bring to bear his experience and clout to accelerate the growth and stability of Nigeria through robust motions and in-house debate when elected as a Senator.
The Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate is a good ambassador as affirmed by the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. He would make the people of Kwara Central proud like he has done as a Governor.
