
Hon. Mashood Mustapha (MM), a stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Wakilin of Ilorin Emirate, has mourned the demise of Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, Chairman of the Governing Council of Kwara State University and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin.
In a statement released to the media on Saturday through his Head of Media and Public Relations, Dr. Opeyemi Aregbesola, the prominent statesman described Prof. Ambali’s death as a colossal loss not only to the academic community but also to the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and the nation at large.
The statement reads:
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of an erudite scholar of immense intellect and outstanding academic accomplishments, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, Chairman of the Governing Council of Kwara State University and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin.
“Prof. Ambali’s death is a colossal loss, not only to the academic community but also to Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria as a whole.
“Throughout his distinguished career, he exemplified excellence, integrity, and selfless service, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that will continue to inspire generations of scholars and leaders.

“At this difficult time, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, the good people of Ilorin Emirate, the management, staff, students, and alumni of the University of Ilorin, and the Governing Council and management of Kwara State University.
“I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and give his family, friends, colleagues, and all those he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
