
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alanamu Ward, Alhaji Muyideen Jimoh Ikolaba, has resigned from his position and officially defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) alongside other ward executives.
Ikolaba disclosed this in a resignation letter dated May 6, 2026, which was sighted by this medium.
According to him, the decision followed careful personal reflection on his future political direction.
He further requested that his name be removed from the official membership register of the APC in Alanamu Ward.

Alhaji Muyideen Ikolaba is believed to be a loyalist of Hon. Mashood Mustapha (MM), the Wakilin of Ilorin Emirate and a key political stakeholder, who recently dumped the APC over what he described as the party’s lack of an effective crisis resolution mechanism.
The latest development is expected to further intensify the wave of defections currently rocking the APC in Kwara State
